About the journal

The sweet spot is a place—and a point of view.

HiFi Immersion explores what happens when music, engineering and a listening room come together. What began with system recordings is growing into an independent magazine for people who love to listen.

Why we record

Few people get to hear a remarkable system in its own room, and the moment is often brief. HiFi Immersion preserves a careful record of each encounter: the equipment, room, source, microphone position, recording chain and music.

No recording can fully recreate the room. Think of ours as an honest window into the experience—best enjoyed on a capable system or headphones, alongside the details of how it was made.

How we listen

System recordings typically use a matched pair of DPA 4011-series microphones at the listening position with a Zoom F8n Pro field recorder. Each published session identifies its venue, date, format, playback chain and relevant production details.

01 · Context

Show the whole chain

Sound is a system result. We document the room and signal path, not merely the product in the thumbnail.

02 · Independence

Label commercial support

Sponsored access is disclosed. Sponsors do not receive control of our interview, edit or conclusion.

03 · Curiosity

Ask how and why

We give designers, listeners and musicians room to explain their choices in their own words.
